Ether.fi’s August platform update adds tokenized equities, metals and portfolio borrowing powered by Aave. The announcement broadens an application associated with staking into a larger set of financial tools, with self-custody vaults part of the design.

## The income angle

The products still need to be understood separately. Validator rewards, a tokenized security and a collateralized loan have different economic engines. A shared interface does not give them identical rights, liquidity or protection.
